Fitting a generator on a city lot

Placement is the hard part on an established lot. A standby generator needs clearance from the house, windows and property lines, and a pad with room for service. West University Place asks for a survey showing the generator location, setbacks, pad construction and elevation as part of the permit. Bellaire expects the generator and its distance to the building on the site plan. We lay out the position on your lot before we recommend a model.

Noise and neighbors

Lots are close together here, and both cities have noise ordinances that apply to equipment. That is a placement question as much as a product one: where the unit faces, how far it sits from the fence, and what is on the other side.
