How Hunters Creek inspects electrical work.
The codes the city has adopted
Hunters Creek Village publishes its adopted codes: the 2020 National Electrical Code alongside the 2021 editions of the International Residential, Building, Fuel Gas and Energy Conservation codes. Electrical work here is reviewed against those editions, so we plan circuits, grounding and protection to the 2020 NEC requirements from the first visit.
Inspection points from underground to final
The city's required inspections list spells out the electrical stages: underground conduit or cable before it is covered, a temporary service pole and temporary cut-in when needed, wall and ceiling rough-in before the framing is closed, and an electrical final. Permanent electrical connection is released only after the final passes. Wired handles the permits and inspections a job calls for, so those steps happen in order.
Pools have their own bonding inspection
Pool work in Hunters Creek gets an electrical underground and bonding inspection after the bonding is complete and before anything is covered, then an electrical final, and the pool final comes only after the electrical and plumbing permits have closed out. If you are adding or rebuilding a pool, we wire the pump, lights and bonding grid so that sequence goes smoothly.
Registered contractors and next-day inspection requests
The permit application states that a contractor must be registered with the city, with a certificate of insurance and license on file. The permits page asks for inspection requests by 3:00 p.m. on the business day before the requested date. We keep both in mind when we set a work schedule with you.
